Two Trains Running

New Orleans, La. August 22, 2014…14 years have come and gone since the Anthony Bean Community Theater completed Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner August Wilson's Century Cycle, becoming one of three theaters to do so. Staying true to its August in September Series, the Anthony Bean Community Theater presents August Wilson's Two Trains Running. Artistic Director Anthony Bean says “Two Trains Running was the first play of the series that we produced at ABCT in 2001. It's only natural that we hit “replay” and begin with the play that whets our appetite for August Wilson’s brilliant works.” Two Trains Running is the powerful, often funny, always compassionate story of ordinary people who find community and hope in a Pittsburgh diner amid the turbulent political upheaval and social change of the 1960s. It is the seventh in Wilson’s 10-play Pittsburgh Cycle, chronicling the lives of African-Americans in each decade of the 20th century.
