ABCT Summer Youth Theater Camp ABCT Summer Program Is More Than a Camp, It's Culture .

Summer Theater Program for youngsters, ages 8-17, includes acting classes/workshop, guest lectures and guest performances and culminates in the production.

...more than a training ground for the arts; it is a safe and nurturing environment where community is emphasized, friendship valued and personal growth celebrated. ...the ideal place for children to learn about the arts and develop creative skills, as they discover more about themselves and their world. ABCT Summer Camp is a collaborative effort with the New Orleans Recreation Department, founded to help children 8-17 years old expand their cultural boundaries and outlook.

Camp is designed for a full day theater experience. No previous theater experience is required. The session will last for 8 weeks. Lunch will be provided on site. Your child will enjoy a 8 weeks of special art activities and high-quality, hands-on workshops including:

Theatre - play-writing, performance, production, costuming, lighting and set building.

On Friday of each week, we stage a talent show/performance, in which your child will showcase his/her creativity and imagination.

This 6-week intensive Summer Acting Program, taught by Anthony Bean, the Award-Winning Actor/Director and Executive Producer of the Anthony Bean Community Theater and Acting School (ABCT), begins with script analysis and an introduction to his personal tools that encourage ease, spontaneity, and clarity.
The program progresses to classes in scene study, monologues, and on-camera acting technique, as well as specialty classes such as Voice for the Actor, and Improvisation.
The program culminates in a talent showcase in which students share their work and receive feedback from ABCT alumni and industry professionals.
This program is an excellent, affordable way for those interested in pursuing a career in acting in to be a part of Anthony Bean Theatre company and the acting community.

The summer program will culminate with the hit musical play, ‘The Me Nobody Knows’ is a Tony-nominated and OBIE Award-winning, a ground-breaking musical which has been inspiring and touching audiences throughout the world for generations. Within the envelope of a single day, the show poetically examines the aspirations and fears of a multi-racial cast of young people. Inspired by actual writings of students in the New York City Public Schools, the stories are universal, and can be shared by and with all races. The powerful and contemporary score carries and propels each individuals journey. The size of the cast may vary according to the needs of each production. ‘

PAYMENT & TUITION


Flat Rate: The cost for the 9-week session is $460. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Tuition covers all materials (Travel cost, admissions, and daily breakfast and lunch.)

ABCT/NORDC will also offer a 6-week session for $180. The camp will start on June 4 and will end July 13, 2018.

Transportation to and from ABCT is not available.

We accept cash, money order, Visa, Master Card, American Express.
